Respiratory Illness in entire flock. *Update Post 12*

Blah...this is sounding worse and worse

I am going to wait for the vet's reply, but as of now, it is looking like I will be culling everyone

I got a reply from the poultry expert. She said that she normally doesn't recommend culling the entire flock right off. She couldn't tell me exactly what they have (I figured that) but it was probably either, MG, Infectious Bronchitis, or Coryza. She said that with any of those my chickens could end up being carriers so adding new chicks could always be an issue. Reading that made me decide that culling and starting over is probably going to be my best option. We depend on our flock for eggs and to have chronically sick chickens that aren't laying the best that they can just isn't in the cards

I am so depressed over this. I will end up having to cull my guineas too, as she said even though they are not showing signs that they can still be sick and therefore could still end up carrying the illness. I guess this is what farm life is like though...

Can anyone tell me if they will be safe to eat? Or will we just be wasting 30+ chickens? We do have a wolf santuary nearby...would it be safe for wolves to eat? I know that they take donations...

I am so bummed
