Hello there, I have a couple of RIR's I got from a farm recently, about a month ago that were seemingly healthy. Then about 2 weeks ago, one of the hens started to have her eyes shut, was extremely lethargic, her eyes were weeping as well as drainage from her nostrils and there was a crackling sound when she would breath or eat/drink and then she's been having diarrhea. I thought maybe it was coryza so I medicated the water with corid and did that whole regiment, but there is no improvement. She's going on 2 maybe 3 weeks like this and her eyes are cloudy. But she still eats and drinks, still lethargic and comes outside the coop once or twice a day, then back to roosting with her head tucked into her wing. The feathers on her wings are also very crusty from all of the drainage from her eyes and nostrils.
She also just started laying and the eggs have been white and thin (first two eggs) and then the third egg was white a leathery and this morning, it looked like just the yolk which has me concerned it is newcastle or just due to her not eating enough. It is only her and the other RIR who has no symptoms whatsoever and lays beautiful brown eggs. I have some pullets that will be ready to go out into the hen house in about a month, but I don't want to put them out there until I figure this out. I'll be honest, I'm contemplating putting her down because she's not getting any better, but she's also not really getting worse. I didn't pull her out since it is just the two and since I got them together from the same place, I figured they would both have whatever it is, but the other hen is just fine. I posted some pics that are from this morning.
Any advice on what else I can do, if there is anything, or what in the heck she has would be really appreciated, thank you.
