I'm crying right now. These past couple of days, our silkie Pebbles has been hatching chicks. On Friday, Joy was born, and this morning, Hope came into the world. Pebbles stopped sitting on the remaining eggs after Hope hatched, so we moved the remaining eggs to the incubator. This afternoon, I saw Pebbles, Hope, and Joy roaming the run. I thought about moving them inside, but decided that mama knew best. It's been raining and cold these past few days. I went to refill their food, and was only able to find Pebbles and Joy. I found Hope nearby, cold and, unfortunately, already passed.

Our hopefull hatch of 5 is now down to one hatched chick and 2 eggs in the incubator.

She was adorable and sweet, even though she lived less than 24 hours. I miss you, little one. Rest in peace.
