The lunar eclipse was freaking out my ducks. I think what made it worse was the fact that the full moon came up and we had clouds on and off. One moment you could see into the meadow with the snow reflecting the light and then is was pitch black shortly after. It was like that for hours. The ducks were gacking for hours in their duck house. Then it finally cleared up when the eclipse started. That's when the temperature dropped like a rock to. I was outside taking photos with just a regular digital camera freezing my fingers off. Anyway, enjoy:

My ducks have a huge window front in their duck house. It goes all the way down to the floor and 4 feet up. For them it is like sleeping in front of a large sliding door with full view of the small pen and all the up to the sky. They are usually all quiet, but last night they were restless. We heard them talk when we stepped out without even turning lights on or making any noise.
Today they are miserable. Let them at with only 17 degrees. They went into their a-frames staying on the hay. They later came out when the temps went above 25F. Now they are in and out because of nasty winds. At least they have a place to go into when they want to.

Wow...it's 45F here. Lost all our snow....looks like a rainy Christmas. A bit breezy, but we're in the river canyon at 700' so somewhat protected. Just the tree tops blowing around. Snow in the mountains though.

Thank you for staying up and taking pictures (so I didn't have to

) I was fast asleep with visions of sugarplums dancing in my head. Besides, it snowed all night so I wouldn't have been able to see it anyway!
