Linda's first post on this thread was 4/20/11, one year, one month, one day later she was in court for the second time defending her rights to keep her pets! What a journey we have all followed and just when it felt like she had everything we all hope to have someday in retirement she gets hit with this. I feel so sad for you Linda. When I saw you hadn't posted yet my heart just fell knowing how bad you are feeling.
Such good information given to you here but only you can decide what the fight will be. Bottom line is that you have invested a lot on the written word of the real estate agent that the property was what it was represented to be. Addressing that may be the place to start and urge them to fix it. They can deal with a lawsuit or put out some money for an attorney to fix this.
I too would scour the neighbors for violations and let them know you will play their game (if that's the avenue you want to go). Sometimes people back up real quick when they're on the other end. Maybe HHandbasket and Farmer Lou (or someone not known to the neighborhood) could just go to each house and snap some shots that can be looked at for violations. Actually, maybe have someone openly taking pictures so that the neighbors would come out and ask what they're doing and the person could say they were gathering information for violations that have been brought to their attention after the problems with the Gryres property! The person taking the pictures doesn't have to say who they are, just imply they are on official business and not necessarily from you but like this was found DUE to their actions!
Your in El Dorado County right? Maybe some of us could look over all the rules and regulations and find something that could help you. I'm recovering from back surgery and have some time to do some research.
I hope you have a nice bottle of wine handy! Or two or four.....
