Return of the Peafowl!!! Two thumbs up.... Will there be a sequel>>>

Yes I was so very happy!! Most of ya'll know that I lost two sets of peafowl last year when they managed to escape the pen I had for them. Well one of the males showed up about two months after they got lost and a couple of months after that the female came back whoo hoo!!!! I've let them be on their own in the woods behind the house and keept an eye on preditors. So my question is should I catch them before breeding season so I can make sure the female stays safe during nesting time? Crystal

I would try to catch her if I were you, maybe when she's roosting. Although she's probably roosting high up in a tree. Peahens can fall victims while sitting on their eggs if not protected, such as in a pen. Maybe you could lure them with some bread, scratch, or cat food, all of which they love.
