Review of the 56 egg no brand incubator

400

so these 4 decided to join us on day 19/20

I am happy with the performance of this incubator it has held the temperature and after some adjustments the humidity stayed steady. I would say for the money I am well satisfied

My hubby reminded me to mention, that I put a 'cozy' of a quilted pillowcase over my incubator to help it maintain temps

Day 18 lockdown! The girls helped me get the incubator ready, we removed the turner. The bottom hatching area has quite a gap between it and the outside and after some advise I decided to lay down a shelf liner to protect my chicks from getting stuck or injured, I made sure it was a little oversized so that it covers the gap and goes up the wall aways

I had read about a user having trouble with liquid from the hatch getting in c the electrical parts and causing problems so I decided to set my eggs on egg carton tops

We added water to the wells in the bottom and right now I have two hygrometers plus the one on the unit and all three say different things but all of them are over 60% I think part of the discrepancy is that all the hygrometers are at different hights inside the unit. When we candled our remainin 10 eggs we were in agreement that one had quit so we removed that one the other nine went in. We have one white leghorn roo who is the dad to 6 and a rir roo who is the dad to the last 3. I have a variety of girls that lay brown eggs so not real sure on mom to all of them... there is one white leghorn egg so we will have one pure breed.lol the two green eggs are ee crossed with the white roo.. I am excited to see what we get. We Did See MOVEMENT in all 9 so yeah

Congratulations. I am always thrilled with a nice hatch of lively chicks.

I have the same incubator.
I was hoping you could send me the temp and humidity codes for this unit. I was given this as a gift but no owner manual. I have the temp adjusted but am stumped on the humidity. It is factory set at 45% and I need to lower it. Any help would be appreciated.

I plan on using another incubator as a hatcher since this one looks a bit difficult to clean. It sure is cool looking though.

We are on day 15 of our 4th run with this incubator. I have had excellent luck with the shelf liner over the mesh floor and a cut down egg carton over that to insure that no egg shells or goo gets into the fan/heater and components. I am loving my barnyard mix mutts they have such a variety of colors and egg colors! We currently have 36 eggs in one more week and we will see what we get.....

I had this incubator and I was not thrilled with it mostly because the "works" were on the bottom. It was difficult to keep clean and it did not have ventilation holes. I suppose I could have drilled a couple of holes in the lid, but I gave it a friend. Nevertheless, it was a cool looking incubator.

1. The led lights used to candle don't work. They light up the entire incubator and you can't see inside the eggs.
2. Gaps between the floor and sides is too wide and I had chicks fall head first and die stuck there with their head in the water channel below.

The light never worked in mine, but I could live with that.
I had the same trouble with chicks falling in the gaps so I rolled up paper towels to block the gaps.

Regardless, not thrilled with the unit!!:(

Due to a very staggered hatch I have ordered another Incubator that should arrive within the week and this one will be turned into a Hatcher. I seem to struggle to keep the humidity right. it runs at 25% with no water and then jumps to 50% when i add water to either channel, but it will stay high enough for hatching NO Problem. lol
