we have one rhode island red, Charlotte, she's 16 weeks old

very pretty girl, need to get a new camera, I have a cockrel and 2 pullets that were born end around end of April, they are so much better behaved but don't socialize much with the flock just keep to themselves. Giving him a white leghorn pullet too though as someone asked for that specific cross

I just got one RIR chick. She was sold as a pullet from the feed store.

Here she is next to her buddy the white leghorn named Ethel. The RIR is Lucy we named them after I love Lucy the TV show

Anyone seem a Bantam RIR like this before?

Please excuse the blur of a picture but she wouldn't stand still!!
My friend gave me this bird today. It's RIR that is half the normal red/burgundy and half mottled.
This colouration is literally split from head to tail right down the middle. Has anyone ever seen a bird colour split like this?
I hope to get a better pic asap to show you

its possible that she is a chimera. that is when two non identical embryos fuse together and the result is an offspring with two different distinct sets of dna or markings. they can even be a mix of male and female.

I believe it did! I've seen her checking it out several times. She even brought two of my other chickens in the trailer with her one day. LOL
