Rhode Island Reds…Gray and Black Chicks?

Just to update everyone: I learned that the farm I got the parents from has a gray chicken that looks just like this one but fully grown. That hen would be an aunt to my chick. Sounds like it will stay this color. Picture of my chick (suspected pullet) taken today. Approx 7 weeks old.

Well, I love the coloring of the chick.

Don't think I've seen a lavender from red before... not saying it doesn't happen. Just not seen or heard of it.

Kind of a neat surprise, LOL.

Indeed! If I get a pic of the gray aunt at my friends farm I’ll post it.
