Hi there, I have been trying to get my hands on RC RIWs for a few years. I am on the waiting list for SandHill, but have told they have poor quality RIWs so I am also looking for another source. Urch lists them online, but I noticed they weren't on the mailer he sent out for ordering birs (I'll probably call the business number and ask about them tonight). I'm definitely interested in other sources.

My RC RIW's originally came from Sand Hill preservation. I bought them from a person that had gotten them. I show my birds and have done pretty well. I haven't had any champions with my whites but have gotten Best of Breed with them. If you look back through this thread I have posted several pictures of them. I have been very happy with them. I have been trying to find some history on them and if there is a line they are descendants of. I no longer have my original whites but have offspring from them. I had predators ( a coyote and an owl) kill all but my original male and two of the original females a couple of years ago and had to build my flock back up from those three. I shot the coyote but didn't kill him. I have video of the owl on my game camera. I thought originally it was a raccoon that had killed some of my birds. My DH had built a couple of coops that are open on one side so the owl went into the coop.

This is after the attacks and I had moved the birds out.

Now there is netting completely covering all of the pens and I put the tarps up, and so far haven't lost any more birds. I also have electric wires around all of my pens.

I have a data base of breeders but it is really hard to get some of them to respond and to get them to ship you eggs. You might try Duane Urch's hatchery and see if he still has some. I think his chicks run about $7.00 each plus shipping and you have to order 25.

He didn't have them on ho flyer, so I don't know if Duane Urch is selling them this year. I keep intending to call them during their listed hours, then keep getting held up at work. Thanks for the info, though.

I am not sure if he does or not. When I talked to Ryon he said he did but then someone else told me no he did not. If you can get him to send you hatching eggs you might want to try Frank Reese. He is the one who found me my hatching eggs.
