Ribh's D'Coopage

Seriously thick fog this morning. To the point I couldn’t see more than 5 meters in front of me

I’ve rowed in fog like that! It was weird seeing a building loom out of the fog that you were expecting to see on the other side as you didn’t notice the coxswain had turned you around!

THE BAR OF SHAME.
Beatha, Patricia & Lavender were exiled to the lower bar last night.

Medh & Aoife had a dispute & Aoife pecked Medh off the top rail so she was condemned to the rail of shame for the night too. Other end. On her own. :(
Now she is laying Aoife is really starting to throw her weight around. She is very funny because she has no real designs on leadership. It's just that now she can.

There were no hard feelings this morning.
They were all milling round after the dinner scraps.

I love that "the bar of shame". :gig well played. :gig

These two seem to have made up. Fat Bird has not been Cillin friendly the past few days. A lot to do with him following Fudge about like a dog on a lead. Fudge is laying eggs while of course Fat Bird isn't really. She even left the coop with him this morning rather than waiting for a lift.:love

I'm so glad they made up. I didn't like it when they were on the outs. 🥰

They are richer in spring - fall and less in winter. It has to do with available grass and bugs. Of course, that does assume snow in winter.
My girls haven't laid for months, though Tsuki has been squatting for me so maybe she will start again soon. :fl

Any advice on encouraging the young ones to lay again?

It really hasn't been that cold here yet but I'm thinking of breaking out the warm porridge!

It's all about daylight. If you want eggs, put a light on in the coop and extend the daylight hours.

I don't do that. I let them have a break from laying every winter. It's hard though. I love their eggs.
