Yes I took it while driving...

I was able to sit outside before the next round of rain moves in.

Stanley was very warm and all stretched out.

Every one enjoyed some left over Chinese food.

Ella is growing up quickly! Ellie has this adorable little Crest, but it's so hard to get a good shot.

You can almost see it here. The barring at the top of her head is a bit wider then rather neck, that's her little crest.
Ella is growing up beautifully. And that Stanley! Was everybody hungry an hour after eating the Chinese?

I don't think we get the variety of what you guys call *easter eggers* out here. I know our Aracaunas are different. They follow the British standard. So we don't see quite the egg colour variety like WhoDat gets. There are sure to be plenty of barnyard mixes but again many of the backyarders I know have ISA Browns. Those who take their poultry keeping seriously are far more likely to have quality rarer breeds but they are a really scary bunch of people & some are quite snooty. I joined a FB group just for contacts for 1 or 2 breeds I am interested in but which are really hard to source but I don't participate in the discussions; I know; hard to believe, right? But it gets nasty quickly & I am happy enough just reading for information. The man seriously wants to expand his nursery & if he gets his commercial block he wants me to try chickens. I am thinking about it ~ mostly which breeds I want to promote but there's those darn cockerels...!!!
That makes me sad. Why are they nasty? What does that get them?

Good morning folks. :frow Apparently I used the term getting her home wrong. They are looking to move her to an in patient PT type facility for anywhere from 4 days to four weeks.
Well that's probably a good thing. Dedicated PT has great results. How much weakness does she have?

I know, right! We all start somewhere & not all of us are rolling in cash to spend hundreds on the best quality birds but we should still be able to play without judgement. It's sad because there is so much valuable knowledge of breeds, history, breed standards, preparing to show if you're into that sort of thing & some are so snarky people won't ask. I have a lovely pekin bantam contact who puts up heaps of wonderful information for free & let me join his group even though I have no real interest in his breed. We need more like that!

My Frizzle breeder friend said that chicken people can be strange and an Indian Brahma breeder I know said the same. Aren’t we chicken people though?! And FB can be really toxic and a real time-waster.
I agree on Facebook. I'm glad I never got started on that. BYC takes all of my time.

Just because I have an account doesn't mean I use it. I have a lot of international friends & when they all moved to FB it was a way of keeping in contact but I've shut most of it down because I wasn't so keen on the friends of my friends... 😉 What it is useful for it getting contacts to hard to source resources, like a phoenix breeder & those cream legbars MJ is keen on ~stuff google just wouldn't turn up for me. Chicken keeping ~ @ least the rarer show stuff out here, seems to be something of a secret club. :( I have enough trouble sourcing stuff from where I live. Anything that makes that process easier I will use.
Makes perfect sense.
