I am with you there! And why lose feathers just as it is getting cold. Losing feathers in the summer makes more sense to me!

This is The Hu.
You can hear Mongolian tonal singing & the lead gets right down into the fry ~ the lowest register you can get! If I remember right you also get some tonal harmonics in this piece. It is very clever musicianship.

Love this video. The visuals, the landscapes, the instruments and of course the singing are all just superb. Is that throat singing I hear as well?

Yes. You should be able to hear some tonal harmonics [overtone singing] as well.
