All I can do.Frankly, one cat less can't be bad thing imo.
Her own. I was very upset. I was very close to breaking her neck. She had pecked bits off them and thrown them around the nesting box. It looked like a horror movie. I took two that were barely alive and put them out of their misery, took some very deep breaths and lifted Myth out of the coop.
I felt partly responsible for not having checked earlier but this was in the morning when I let them out.
I buried them all together. I didn't speak to Myth for weeks.
I find the idea that any other creatures apart from humans do malice difficult to believe. I have seen what I would describe as revenge actions often, but they don't result in deaths. I've had to accept that Myth just isn't able to cope with chicks.

They would be good for hatching those eggs...maybe you could borrow a rooster for a day or two...If I was breeding I'd be delighted. Everyone could have 1 or 2 eggs. As it is it's just a pain in the butt.
That is a good looking boy! This is so wrong! This person does not deserve the title of teacher! No child is dumb, not everyone learns in the same manner and a teacher that can't help them properly is not a teacher! As a parent, the school would have heard from me, just like they did when they gave my youngest son the answers on the test he was taking...
Chicken picture!!! This is therapeutic...Roo too!View attachment 2417260
I have always thought that they changed color when molting. I swear every year Patsy's red feathers move further down her neck. It's Barking Bracket.
I confess, I do not understand the first thing about this hen. She started moulting about ten days ago, or that's when I noticed. Three days ago she looked a bit ragged. Her tail feathers were mostly missing, her head looked like the hairdresser from hell had been at it. Her chest looked much like Mel's does now. She's almost there now and to add insult to injury, she's had a noticable colour tone change. It's like the chicken fairy waved a wand one night.

Good for your mom!!! Mothers and fathers are our first teachers! When my daughter was in high school, she would come home and say "Calculus makes me happy", yes, this was my daughter, the daughter of a mathematically challenged person...I remember my math teacher when I was little didn't explain that the decimal points had to line up - so I would be happily doing sums and generating random numbers based on whether the edge of the paper forced the decimal points to line up.
My mother (who was mathematically inclined) took one look and went batshit crazy and sat me down and explained why they needed to line up.
Eventually I went on to be top of class in math and ended up loving the beauty and clarity of algebra. Seriously, as a high school kid I just loved it! And all because my mother spotted the decimal point issue!
He thinks he's all that and a box of chips too...That is a good looking boy!

I know that feeling! Frames look good though!I picked up my new glasses while babysitting last week. They have thinned the lenses so I don't need such heavy frames & that means the blind spot on the edge of the frame is not so bad. They've got twiggly hinges too so hopefully my propensity for breaking my goggle eyes while dealing with chickens will be lessened. I'm finding them so much better to work with just because I have much bigger lenses. This growing older lark is no fun @ all!
