Ribh's D'Coopage

Sounds like we are using them to play poker! 🤣
Or do magic card tricks. 🤣

"Now I insert the deck into the chicken shuffler..........and PRESTO! Is that your card?!" (Cue music and light applause sign)

I do not have this problem. When I enter the run they back away until I am seated (if I am staying). When I leave Phyllis will rush to walk out with me. Otherwise they do not tangle around me feet. I have not ever stepped on one or been tripped by one. They walk with me when I'm outside but never right next to me (except Phyllis). I do have to watch her sometimes. Maybe I smell bad? 🤔
I'm sorry, Bob. :hugsI only get that sort of behaviour when the girls first arrive but I will point out, the rest of us commenting are female. I have no idea why that would make a difference but I suspect it might.

This is the way it is with any pets we have in our lives...it's always amazing the depth of attachment we can develop for them! I've mourned every pet I've lost & have been completely devastated by the hole some of those losses left in my life! All we can do is care for them to the best of our abilities! 💞
This is true. I have had one cat that is just irreplaceable. He was an alpha male & I was totally his person. He was so protective of me the man said he feared for his life. :lau Sudden blood clot & we couldn't save him. It was devastating. I am always astounded by the trust animals give us. My present boys were dumped in the trash before they were even weaned. I have never understood it. They have wonderful personalities & are very, very loving.

It's a perennial chicken problem. I have stepped on a few toes and once accidentally booted Pepper gently across the run.
Oh my goodness! Poor Pepper! It's complete bedlam though if 1 or 2 decide it's safest to fly up & land in the food trays. :lau

Be happy that's how they behave, less chance of any of them sustaining an injury from being stepped on! I had to work with mine a bit as they were jumping and trying to get to the bowls that I carried their mash in...they can be very demanding!
