She's gone. I went to let the girls out & she was as stiff as a board in a nesting box. Going to clean & disinfect the coop now. *sigh* I know this is a fact of chicken keeping but I don't like it!

I caught up on the story. I'm so sorry for your loss. It has to be especially hard as it kinda seems like she surprised you.

I've always had a chicken swing in the run. They never use it. They either duck under it, are scared when it bumps them, or run around it. Sad. I would love to see them swing.

She did. Thank you. I know you are grieving your Patsy too. The only drawback to chicken keeping ~ or any animal really. We constantly outlast them.

We do outlast them but you know, if we didn't grieve them it would mean we didn't love them. The joy they bring is more than worth it. Hang in there.

Good morning all (or evening as the case may be) first day of holidays, yay! It's nice to feel the pressure off but I still have a deadline today I shoulda done the writing on the weekend but I was taking it easy on Saturday and doing a different deadline on Sunday. At least I can set my out-of-office message on my email
