That's unfortunate. My youngest was almost Alexandra. However it just did not suit her. So the name went unused. That was our first choice for a boy too. But we couldn't use it because my brother named his daughter Alexandra.![]()
Thank you , Thank you @micstrachan! That was very informative. I showed hubby, he was really impressed . He said "Wow! Lucky chickens!" then asked, when you were showing all the ventilation, "Was she suffocated in a previous life?"Sure! I will just pull together some old videos I have already posted to youtube.
True, I didn't think of him, but still not British...except by descentHow about Czar Alexander? I think he was pretty well known.
Looks green on my PC monitor too, but I didn't like to say anything, Alex being a pilot and all.I think that is actually green. At least it appears green on my tablet.
Yes. In reality We're not really sure what went wrong. There were very slight traces of cocci & the bloody poop only showed after I arrived @ the vet. I mightn't know much but I know to watch the poop carefully. She did seem to have some sort of leg injury & a very high temp apparently ~ something I couldn't have known @ the time. The vet didn't like her chances of survival even with treatment so we decided it was best to end her suffering. I really feel she got a bum deal but the vet was adamant that travelling in the weather as it was @ the time would not have been the best call so in reality I did everything possible within my limited knowledge. The man wants me to replace her but I've been dithering on it. It would mean @ least 2 more birds & extending the quarantine of the big girls, who are only just getting some run time again now.A broken leg and coccidiosis? Was only the one with the leg injury euthanized? I’m so sorry to hear this.

Ribh, how do you pronounce "Ceres"?
In my head I've been pronouncing it " Sair-ehz" .
Thank you for your kind words! Your husband cracks me up! I had to get creative, because hubby did not love the idea that we would need to build a coop and run. When I suggested converting the play structure, he liked that idea. I built the second half of the run completely by myself and did all the hardware cloth myself.Thank you , Thank you @micstrachan! That was very informative. I showed hubby, he was really impressed . He said "Wow! Lucky chickens!" then asked, when you were showing all the ventilation, "Was she suffocated in a previous life?"I had to explain about breathing issues and frost bite.
I really love your coop and run. It is sooo interesting. Your chooks have their recall down pat. You could enter an obedience trial with them!![]()
