Ribh's D'Coopage

When we are done I may be able to provide those of you who like such things, sizes & dimensions & such like but just now most things are predetermined by the size of the ply so we don't have to cut as much. My man's back is held together with screws & bits of other people's bone & everything has to be done @ a snail's pace or neither of us can manage.

This morning we put on the roof trusses, 2 walls into the nesting box area & the floor. It is squarer than it looks in my photos. :)

While the man was resting I finished filling the bottom garden bed & will eventually pop my franjipani back into the ground. I think I will wait a bit though. Quite a few things have got damaged as we lumber around.

This afternoon we will hinge & hang the nesting box lids ~ & yes, I like to come in from above. Less chance of accidents with those precious eggs! The open area here is for my bins. Then there are the roosts & we need paint for my rooves & floor ~ a job for Tuesday when we are back on the mainland ~ again! And we still have all the posts & trusses to put in for the netting because I insisted I be able to stand up inside so I can reach everything. I also want to be able to put up some outside roosts & I have some nice big logs to roll round & get inside the run for interest's sake.

Hi!.... it’s all looking great so far! It’s so nice when it’s underway and you’re making progress! :thumbsup

Tomorrow we will be starting the expansion... hope to post pics of some progress of my own ;)
Looking forward to seeing your pics! We would have had the roof on only originally we were going to use corrugated iron, so hadn't bought paint, but on consideration decided that heated up waaay too much in our climate so changed our minds @ the last minute.

I think @Kris5902 has jinxed us.;) This morning a neighbour arrived wanting to know if we would be interested in participating in a progressive dinner.:hmm The man is deaf & I don't do well in crowds of people I don't know. I can manage 1 or 2 on a good day but generally I'm very anti~social ~ apart from being vegetarian & loathing any & all seafood ~ which most people round here love! Just the smell makes me feel ill. We wiggled out with thanks & apologies.

Sorry I jinxed you, at least it wasn’t the weather though? I’m about the same when it comes to people... that’s one of the reasons we decided it was time to move to the Farm. I started having really high anxiety and panic attacks at work. I’m ok with two or three people, but crowds and the expectations of “socializing” shuts me down. I pretty much dread community events and gatherings, and try to find one or two people I know fairly well to sit at a table with and don’t move much.

Community fundraising events are basically mandatory here though. about 7 times a year there’s events I can’t get out of, and we’ve been to a whole 2 Potlucks in the two years we’ve been here because of me (both were husbands birthday which is shared with another islander) they are weekly events though.

I know.. boring pic ... my next one should be a little more exciting!
Oh, no. Other people's pictures are always interesting! You are in a different country & just the trees & the way things look is sooo different to here. Like snow. The only time I've ever seen snow was in Europe & I hated it.:lau
It's partly why I post so many pics myself. I could explain till the cows come home but if I show you...!

I know! lol & I was joking about the jinxing. I like cats ~ & chickens. I do well on social media like this because I don't get so overwhelmed. And I have odd interests so *socializing* becomes extremely difficult. I have no idea what most people are talking about.
