I sat with them after I fed them yesterday. Our weather means I don't really have a routine up & going with them yet but they gathered @ the wire while I talked to them & were calm & curious rather than totally freaked out by my presence.

Meanwhile My big girls have been running rampant all through my yard & totally freaked the man out. He was working & suddenly found himself surrounded & being given a lot of unwanted advice. I think he was rather chuffed that they chose to come & spend some time with him.

I just love that your husband had some friends to assist. That is just darling.

I think you are going to be very pleased with these newbies. You are doing great with them.

Thanks, Bob. I'm feeling like no~one is getting much of me just now. I know the big girls are missing me. I am absolutely mobbed any time I'm outside but our weather is shocking! Alpia is starting to look reproachful every time I dump food & run instead of sitting with them.

The little Wyandottes are starting to get their big girl voices. So deep! I will miss the sweet sounds when everyone is all grown up.

That peep is just cutest. Mal had the deepest voice. It was so dramatic when it changed. Nice memories.

Yes, I've been surprised how deep Portia & Gloriana's voices are. Alpia & Wrold aren't like that, but of course they're bantams. Regan seems to be a quiet hen & the bantams are just ditzy ~ except Desdemona who is a very dignified little chicken.

You did great naming this crew as well! I wonder if Vorwerks are known to be quiet chickens?

I don't know Bob. Goneril was very quiet too. I'll let you know. I may get another when I go for my Aracaunas. The man is really taken with them & I do need standards for eggs otherwise I think I would have all bantams & Campines. They are so much fun!

Yes. Real sized eggs are nice. Another one with your next group might be a good idea.

Yep. Regan does seem to be a bit on her own but the Vorwerks do mature fast ~ & she has. She's getting close to POL already so I'm sure the antics of the babies drive her a bit crazy.

As long as she tolerates them, that's a real good sign. They may just be the bigger calmer girls that you need to balance your flock.
