That actually sounds like it went well. Why do the bigs immediately invade the little coop? Mine do that everytime as well. It must have something to do with territory or just curiosity.

They are just inspecting to make sure that everything is as it should be and the humans haven't messed anything up since they last checked.

It did actually go really well. And I kept it short so no~one was completely overwhelmed. They've had a month to get used to each other & stickybeak through the wire.

I do think territory comes into it. The little coop is always used a lot when it is available. It is used for shade & shelter a lot & even sometimes for egg laying. The other thing of course is there is dropped food!

Such beautiful ladies. I will concede that the Wyandottes can have stunning feathers. Sansa adds much color to my flock.

KICKED OUT OF HOME.
I gave the little girls 2 runs today: 1 this morning before I let the big girls out ~ & didn't they scream about that! And another after I put the Big Girls in for their dinner.

This afternoon went really, really well. Gloriana, Portia & Regan have been out every time & were excited to be allowed out again. They led the way.


Olivia & Ceres got stuck in the coop & were getting pretty frantic because their tribe was out & they weren't. I managed to round them up & handling them was pleased to feel how much weight & condition they've put on! They feel really, really healthy!

Desdemona tried out her wings again.

She is such a sweetie!

Sorry this one's so blurry but they were so excited & moving so fast!

This morning they barely managed 10 minutes but we did about 1/2 an hour this afternoon just before I changed their feed & water.

They were ready to head back into the coop by then & have a big pig & settle down. They didn't even explore the whole run yet so that is good too. There is still something for tomorrow. Little by little. In so many ways they are still babies.
