Ribh's D'Coopage

I never learnt most of my times tables. We used to joked I had 5 kids because it was 1 of 3 times tables I knew [the others were 10X & 11X :lau]. Rote learning. So not my thing. :( I had a lot of good teachers but they weren't able to break the math code for me. Most math is still a complete mystery to me.
I had a truely awful maths teacher at the last school I went to and that was at that critical learning time between 9 and what were then 'O' levels. My uncle on the farm I spent the majority of my youth on taught me maths.
Chicken Tax.
Hinge using a nest box for a change. Pity it isn't one in her coop.:he

Yes, like most things there seems to be an optimum time for learning something. I missed the math window but I was determined my daughter wouldn't. I began her on piano early for her maths [patterns & counting] & her early math was very concrete. I'm always pleased when someone finds the person who can help with a learning problem as it makes such a difference to that child's school life.

While I'm waiting to see how Patricia fares I am dosing all the Big Girls with vitamins & probiotics. Patricia refused to eat on her own, even within seeing distance of everyone else. Having food all to herself is not her thing apparently but their regular feed laced with vitamins & yoghurt is a terrific hit! They aren't leaving anything @ all. Apparently everybody likes it.:idunno
It's really strange just how important social eating is for chickens. Here, they bicker about who eats first and at times it looks like one big scrap. But, try to feed one on its own and from waht I've seen they eat a lot less.
Cillin has to eat on his own in the mornings. I really want heim out and about with a full crop. I have to sit with him in the morning dipping my finger in the feed to keep him eating. If I stop, he stops. When he's outside with the others, or one of the others come into the house before I bomb him out he eats.

Yes. I had that problem with Wrold & it took a good hour to get enough food into her to make me happy. Olivia was more than happy to eat for me, which surprised me as my general experience has been a lone chicken doesn't eat as they should.

When I was very worried about Maggie I didn't isolate her but I did bring her on her own into the servants' quarters and give her extra food - she seemed very happy with that arrangement and is still a bit put out that I am not continuing that practice. She scoots in to the servant's quarters when I open the door and stands there where I was feeding her looking up at me expectantly. You just know I am going to give in if she doesn't stop soon!

Something went wrong with the line-up.
Never have the two road-runner Princesses been separated. And only recently have they sometimes been in the middle of the row, but still together.
Tonight Dotty found herself sandwiched between Diana and Elizabeth. And after some anxious looking around seemed to settle in leaving Minnie out in her own.
Minnie was puzzled and studied the situation for a long time.

She even got down from the roost and got a snack but nothing had changed when she returned.
She contemplated flying up to their old baby roosting spot on the top of the window ....

.... But the window is closed.

She even tried going over or under Elizabeth ....

.... But that really didn’t work out so well.

Eventually she settled down in her allotted place and looked out of the window at the falling snow.

I got some interesting video of how Elizabeth warns her from messing with the sleeping arrangements. I will upload later.
