Fowl Pox.
We always seem to have a little bit of it in the flock just because we live where we do & the mosquitoes are rampant with even a little bit of wet. They are in plague proportions if we get drenched.

Everything I have ever read or been told about fowl pox is that there is no cure & no treatment. That is still true but given my eyesight is no longer the best & this is the worst I've ever seen I had both Ceres & Desdemona back to the vet to ensure I had called it correctly & we were looking @ dry pox not wet.

And the good news is there are things that can be done to alleviate their suffering.
The Meloxicam is an anti~inflamatory. The Neocort is an antiseptic cream & the other is just electrolytes. The thing with the electrolytes that I asked about because I have a lot of birds & not everyone needs them, is they can be administered individually by syringe ~ just .02~ rather than going in the water as the bottle says.

@BY Bob, you will be pleased to know the vet has recommended a fecal float so that is the icky job for Thursday morning.

The rain is raining down but everyone is still alive & doing well.

I'm very glad they are doing the test. I will be very interested in what they find.

For the coffee Klatchers..
