Ribh's D'Coopage

OK, people, @BY Bob has posted a special photo & no~one has even noticed ~ which is terribly sad as he's been sitting on this one just waiting for Wednesday. So sit up & pay attention & see if you can figure out what is going on here. ;)
That’s awesome! I have been thinking that maybe around Christmas time the Fluffy Butt micro-community could have a Zoom chat.

It's winter & I'm not getting a lot of eggs. Beatha moulted early but while her eggs are lovely she's not my most productive hen. The bantams, who were laying, have given up the ghost. So I was delighted when Luna finished her moult & decided to get on the laying wagon again. She started almost a week ago & I have had an egg a day ever since.
The thing is she has always laid a buff egg, pretty much the same size & colour as Hepzibah or Soda's. Hard to tell them apart ~ until now. Now [though it is hard to tell from the picture] I am getting quite dark brown eggs from her. Not in the Maran's league but definitely not buff & not even brown. They are dark. I swear, my birds get odder by the day.

Nice eggs! I'm on rations too. Only Ivy is laying, but I'm hopeful Janet will join in soon.
I haven't had any eggs since 16th April. 😿

Today I heard the escort song but I thought it was just a false alarm, but look!

This is Edwina's first egg since 12th February.

Thank you Edwina! 😺💖

We've been lucky to have no cases of the delta variant in Adelaide yet, still we are back to no choirs, no drinking in pubs while standing, masks in crowds, and lots of testing. Glad I had my first Astrazeneca shot already!

I had breakfast in the back porch so I could keep my sparrow survey going. I've blocked one sparrow superhighway already today. Since then, they've given me some respite.
How do you block a sparrow superhighway?

We are in a two-week lockdown; paradoxically this means the girls can free-range more. I’m booked to get my first Pfizer jab next week.

Same here. The greater Sydney area is in lock down.

On the plus side I get to start clearing out my kitchen cupboards before it gets replaced in August. At least, I hope we are still on for August.:fl

Chicken Tax.
