Still been busy at work, but calming down. If I can tolerate the heat today I need to try and mow and gotta make a feed run today. So will be a busy weekend.

Oh gosh! The heat! When do you start to cool down again?

Not til September. And then it's hit and miss. We generally get really cold in Feb.

ETA: We'll be collecting Crab Apples this weekend to make jelly and apple sauce.

These are from my lonely little crab apple tree. Hoping to get 9Kg tomorrow. Pears should be ready in about two weeks. 2nd year fruiting, so still too small to can, but more jelly and I think this time pear butter.

Mmm ~ the one thing I really regret is not quite enough land to grow lots of fruit trees. Those we did have curled up their toes once they hit the clay. Did well with mulberries while the kiddies were little but rot got it in the end.
