It is the chipmunks, they chatter outside the window and when they have the cat’s attention they wiggle their furry red butts at them as the run out of sight.

Our chemist sells hand and feet warmers. They are like those chemical cold packs that you break but they have an exothermic reaction and warm up.
Or you could heat up a rice pack in the microwave and stuff it in your shoe/slipper to warm up before you put them on.

A while back I think it was @Aussie-Chookmum and @LozzyR were sharing pictures of 'bin chickens' and I thought you would all be interested in this.
It is a real study but without a subscription I can only get the abstract and the CNN write-up is quite good.
The included video of the dancing cockatoo is worth watching.
Now I just have to hope the link works!
