Kitchen Update

Hubby and I managed to put the last three cupboard doors on.

Now all we need to do is install the shelves and railings for our tea cups!

We have come up against a problem though Ribh. Can you guess what it is?

Hint:Why are only the over the bench lights on?

Because one of the pantry doors collides with the light fitting. Time to get a flatter light fitting installed.

Sorry about the light fitting - do you mean the switch or the actual fitting in the ceiling?

The chickens have had an interesting few days. For the 1st time ever the neighbours also have chickens: a langshan bantam & Pekin. The Langshan decided to take on Portia through the wire fence. Portia is a Wyandotte & they are not noted for being shy retiring types. She grabbed that cheeky Langshans comb & tried to drag her bodily through the wire! I intervened before any damage was done.

Then Oshina managed to slip between the wire into the other yard. They have a high prey dog loose. He was very interested in Oshina. The neighbour kindly rounded her up & returned her.

Chavi managed to climb into a crab pot but naturally couldn't get out. Happily she is an easily handled little chookie.

Quite a few people seem to have hens & there is a flock of wild ducks nearby. Then the Little Man & I found A lady who keeps lizards. Here he is holding a Western bearded dragon. They turn orange when loved up we were told.

YD requested a sunflower baby blanket for a friend. With nothing else much to do just now I finished it in a couple of days.

That's a lovely little rug. Your daughter and her friend should be pleased.

The actual ceiling fitting. The cupboards are much taller than our old ones and when you swing the door open......

Luckily I noticed and we removed the fitting before there were any accidents.

We had to take the light bulb out as well as the cover then the door could be opened.

Those little details make jobs lit this one fun. You have done a masterful remodel. Amazing! I just love it.

Got it. Actually an easier fix than if it were the switch and an excuse to search for a new light fitting. You can often pick up old ones quite cheaply on Ebay if you feel confident in the rewiring involved (not that hard actually). Something where the bulb(s) go out to the side maybe?
I hope you are happy with it overall - I think it looks great!
