I've never seen one in person, but Wiki tells me they are about the size of a cat.
The ones I've seen in the wild are bigger than a domestic cat. Very pretty but I wouldn't want to tangle with one ~ & perfectly capable of taking out a chicken.


... I mean that’s A LOT of feathers in one pull!! And just when things seem to be settling down... they were out in the yard with PLENTY of space.. so really no apparent reason except to be vicious
... I had noticed last week that their (the flowers) tail feathers are missing so I was wondering who did that too.. I may have a suspicion...
John is still shocked @ how low down the pecking order the Campines are because he says they look like Game birds ~ but in reality they are very timid & very picked on. Lavender is asserting herself too & she has sooo much fluff going on she is really intimidating when she tries.
She should lay really well now until her next molt.
