Plus, judging by all the feathers I have plenty of moulters. And we are in autumn...
so when egg production plummeted to pretty much zilch I thought, oh well, to be expected...
Then last night I lost Chavi. Everyone else came running when I rattled the food bin but no Chavi. Round & round the yard I went checking up, checking low down, on tree branches & every hidden pocket. She'd completely disappeared. No forlorn pile of feathers to indicate a predator had taken her. No giveaway chirp. Nothing. Given she's dark & a great little hider I was furious with her!

Back to the coop & there she was busily stuffing her face. I rolled my eyes but accepted that somehow I'd missed her when I did my count. Um, no...
This morning I found all my missing eggs. With so many bantams they are squeezing into really small spaces & have been stockpiling...

in the coop @ least but really well hidden. Ha'penny seems to have opted to join them even though I did find 2 of her eggs in a vegetable bed! Honestly, my birds are complete & utter nutters!
