Ribh's D'Coopage

Blood isn't mentioned as a main symptom here of coccidiosis, rather striking yellow diarrhea and thirst.

About paralysis, I'm beginning to wonder if it can't sometimes just be one of those generic symptom of illness, like being hunched up and lethargic ? I have had three of my birds act partially paralysed from one afternoon to two weeks and the causes seemed to have vary a lot. And it just came and went.

From what I have seen here, the vets don't do the test themselves but ship them to labs, which means a higher cost. It is actually cheaper to send the sample yourself to a lab, but there are very few that will work with backyard chicken keepers. Maybe it is the same on your side of the world ?

I hope Sorbet continues to improve.

I'm ready to start testing for free. Ship me your poop. The whole thing is just ridiculous. Shame on them all. There really is a part of me that wants to help out. I wish there was a way.

I keep thinking the same - maybe you could train me.
I am only half serious - but it might be a fun excuse to get together - I could drive to Hershey and you could show me how. Suspect there is a YouTube video that I could use but that wouldn't be as fun!

I would love to teach you. You are welcome to come any time and learn. I will help anyone to learn if they would like

I remember you posted a list of equipment and explanation of the process some time way back in your thread. I thought it sounded quite doable.
The test itself is easy. It's the identification of what you might see that can be the difficult part. What is junk, what is pollen, what is a parasite or egg. Those decisions are what make the test difficult. The good news is that coccidia are easy to identify.

A couple of Caturday photos of Éowyn playing outside.

She loves rolling around on this chair.
