He’s such a chill boy. Occasionally naughty and claws the couches and chairs, and doesn’t like being held, but he’s friendly and likes hanging out with you. He still doesn’t know how to lap, but insists on get in my lap when I have my dressing gown on and makes biscuits with all four paws for five minutes solid, purring up a storm, before dismounting!What a gorgeous kitty.
It sounds good apart from the coop bit. It's so annoying when a tradesperson goes dark on you mid way through a job. It's often because they taken on a more profitable job and you/we get to wait.Just
The rooster is fine, though hysterical. Seeing wooing hasn't won them he has taken to stalking them, hoping to ambush them by surprise. He seems especially taken with Ha'penny. She is not enamoured of him. I believe she is top hen though Portia does most of the work. Ha'penny is, as always, a flighty sort of leader. Apart from refusing to mate with him, the girls seem to have accepted him & things are peaceful. He has no issues with me.
The coop is becoming a nightmare. I don't know what has happened to the man as I can't get hold of him & the work to be done is beyond my capabilities. The area I'm now in is rural. Options are definitely limited. I guess later, rather than sooner, it will get sorted.
Meanwhile I have planted fruit trees, including some native ones, & am assembling raised garden beds for the veggies. The nursery I am using only carries things that do well in this area. I had a long chat with them today as the apple I wanted doesn't fruit up here & I didn't know any of the varieties they carried. They also carry heritage seeds for the veggies ~ which is a huge bonus as so many of the veggies sold these days are infertile so no point in harvesting their seed. Heritage varieties are fertile!
I've pretty much sorted out the inside of the house though I may need rugs come winter but for now it is in order & functional.

True, but in this case not. He caught up with me late yesterday, apologising profusely but drama not of his making that needed sorting. Also, in this case, the job would have been completed a month ago if the company who supplied the coop hadn't stuffed me around. If anyone is to blame for the delay, they are.

I do. I had 3 jammed in one nesting box @ one point. That's not bad for my lot. I go slightly nuts when they all decide to sit @ once.
