Ribh's D'Coopage

Wet today.
My broodies were loathe to move.
I kicked them off the nest this afternoon.
These experienced sitters were good girls.

The nutters were not.
They had a peck then squabbled over Alpia's eggs.
When I checked I had all 3 on one nest. The boxes are too small for all 3 to sit together so I tossed Chavi back in the crate with her lone egg & left Tootsie cuddling up to Alpia who had managed to snuggle all 4 eggs under herself.
I can see issues arising when/if these eggs hatch.

Ribh,
Did you make hwc in/on the ground again predators who dig? If not you better put hwc or pavers around the coop/run.
This framework looks like an easy job to go underneath for a dog, fox or whatever you have in Australia that can dig, and kills or eats chickens.
Yes, I haven't finished the apron yet, but there are foxes on the hill behind me so both run & coop will have an apron.
