Ribh's D'Coopage

Picks of Wrold's chick. It looks like she is going to make it - over 8 weeks now- so I have named her Anix [a form of Anise].

She looks like she might be Wrold's or Alpia's with that lacing but some of Henry's colouring coming through.

She is nearly as big as Chavi or Tootsie & much more independent, though still sticking pretty close to mum.

CATURDAY. 🐈
Last week Kirby was very, very sick. He stopped eating & drinking. He was hiding away. He didn't come to sleep beside me or follow me to the bathroom.
I thought he was dying.
As he's 18, going on 19, [88~92 in cat years] that was not an unreasonable thought.
I was devastated. He is one of the few things from my old life that I managed to keep & he has always been inordinately affectionate, more so as he's aged.
Thankfully he came good but with our temps hovering round the 40's all the cats are congregating in the only air conditioned room. Kirby does have one or two health issues which can't be addressed as he has a dicky heart.
I suspect my boarder gave him a little too many treats as he's very fond of Kirby [the only cat who will speak to him] & kirby can be very beguiling when he likes.

I’m glad he’s feeling better. It’s hard when we’ve had them for so long and then we lose them.

When we euthanised Jasper, I wanted to do something to commemorate him. Some of you may remember a while back I got a feather tattoo. Five years later I got another one of cherry blossoms with my children’s names on it. After sitting with the thought for a few months (I never go and get a tattoo on a whim) I asked my artist if he could do one from a photo. He said he could, and so I got another one, which also commemorates my brother as Jasper had been his cat.

I know tats aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, so I’ll pop it under a spoiler. I’ll also include the photo my artist copied. I’m very happy with it.

I know time is getting shorter for our time together but he was there when my world fell apart & is extra special because of that.
