I have the same effect on little Eve. When no one else can settle her they give her to me. Right before surgery when she had not eaten in 12 hours her mom could not settle her. She was in my arms and asleep in less than 5 minutes. It is a very handy skill!

Andrew is the baby whisperer here, there’s something about his heartbeat that puts the littles to sleep, and it also fascinates most paramedics and ER Drs. When he’s hooked up to the ECG the print out is completely backwards, the spikes are where the dips should be, and it has this kind of Darth Vader wheezing sound to it that I think is a little like white noise. Whatever it is it puts babies to sleep quickly. I’m the one the Littles want to play with and be held by when they are active and awake though... so it balances out just fine!

My son would cry and cry. Then as soon as my mother came home from work - he absolutely shut up. She'd hold him and he was good all the time.

Did find out though he was colicky because I had a very strong stream of milk, and he couldn't swallow fast enough to deal with it. Much later I learned you should let that
go down the sink until it's not a raging river but just a nice stream.

I didn't learn at home because my mother never nursed and neither did my sister or my niece(had 2 kids. I was the odd one. Got a lot of self esteem from nursing though, could have fed triplets. Even though I was small but, they weren't phonies.

PS when I was nursing him, the other faucet would be shooting milk to the ceiling. Try explaining those stains to someone.

Oh my.... it arrived and I couldn’t be more stunned! The lighting isn’t great and the background colors take away from these pictures, and nope the cats aren’t going to be allowed to claim it!

I'm actually tearing up looking at your rug Kris. Those colours are like a deep winter ocean. Gorgeous!
