O I love it! Thanks! They are very pretty! I love seeing Tsuki.

I will consciously attempt to take more picks of her especially for you BoB

This morning Tsuki poked her head into the "new" coop to check out the nesting boxes and Edwina came belting out of there like her tail was on fire! She didn't want to get picked on by Tsuki-the-bully even if she was getting ready to lay an egg!

Patsy used to molt like this time of the year. Just when it started getting pretty cold. I always felt awful for her. This is from last year.

Poor darling. I always feel so sorry for them at moulting time.

It’s such a shame that our pretty gals have to get so ugly ... so long as they get pretty again ... and less grumpy!

Hahaha. Agreed. Can't blame them for being grumpy though. It must be the chicken equivalent of PMS

I remember the first time I saw it happen. It was Daisy (greatest hen ever) and I was actually using the web cam at the time and I was quick enough to switch on the recording. I downloaded the video and then never saved it to anything else. I dropped that tablet a couple of years ago and lost the video.


It really is an amazing thing to see.

You are going into spring, right? How long has she been laying? If I remember right she is new to this egg business.

Deana's almost 4 years old but she had a few months off laying while she was moulting and I was getting anxious about her as I'd lost one of her hatch mates to egg binding the previous year.

Such a shame about the laying video Bob.

Well, Claire, Rosemary, & Sunny, look full on... Ruby, & Kelly look to be starting maybe.. I can’t really tell if Nilky (Silkie) is or not and Maryn still looks fabulous as of now.. those are my first gals from last year.. everyone else is too young just yet... but Rosemary and Claire look pretty bad and miserable ... poor Claire just stays off by herself mostly and doesn’t come around when I bring treats and stuff... my poor sweet Claire... thanks for asking

I hope they don't have too hard a moult @WhoDatChick. Commiserations
