Cook them up for her with a crushed up calcium tablet, she will love the egg treat and then you can boost her calcium even more. Maybe she’s just being picky and not eating enough of the layer pellets? Chickens can be weird

Well, the soft shell wasn't Patricia. She laid a perfectly normal egg this afternoon. I'm thinking maybe Soda, who rather notoriously lays double yolkers...

I found a soft shelled egg under the roost this morning. Not sure whose it was. To be honest, with Sandy's infections, the antibiotics, and the extended yard, they've had a lot of excitement lately. It's no wonder someone dropped a funny egg while sleeping.

Doing some reading: stress can do it & summer heat. Today was considerably warmer & having just lost a chook I know the girls are a little more stressed than usual. Will be checking them all over thoroughly over the weekend.
