Ribh's D'Coopage

Parcels are always exciting, doubly so when they are from chicken friends. I won't say who it is in case she doesn't want to be outed but you may be able to guess. ;) Everything about this was just so lovely! From the wax seal to the wrapping.

Can you guess what it is?
I couldn't.

And I'd read the note! :)

It's a crochet hook roll!
It even came with some crochet hooks!

Thank you so much. I am thrilled beyond words! Such a thoughtful, pretty gift.

Just had to do the cats before the summer flea infestation got waaay out of control but nothing is as bad as the outbreak of headlice @ the primary school. One family ~ & they refused to treat their kids so it went round & round. My girls & I had hair down to our waists...:rant:he The chickens are @ least easy to manage. :)

Flash backs to elementary school.... more itching and shuddering!

@BY Bob that is too cold... just way too cold! Ice storm??? Brrrrr! Though I will admit today there was some unmentionable white stuff falling from the sky, it is actually warming up here again. I’m looking into repurposed propane tank wood stoves for Christmas. I do not envy your winters at all. (An aside: I’m Still so behind over on your thread, but tomorrow is a town day, so I hope to catch up on the ferry rides!)

So lovely! Chicken friends are the best friends!

Looking south from the road near FIL’s cabin on the drive home near sunset. This was a cold night (2 days ago) but I liked the moon and the light with the trees. “Stop!!! No... In the next clearing... I need to get a picture of this for my chicken friends!” Andrew is at the point where he just smiles and says “ok, but you know you’re crazy right?” And I know he loves me for it!

They like moist, humid conditions & you will get them in any tropical or sub~tropical areas, not necessarily around water. The are sneaky & silent. Often the 1st you know about it is a gush of blood when they drop off. They are totally gross!

Uuurgh. A whole group of us went hiking in Katoomba after it had been raining for some time years ago. The further in we went the more leeches we noticed swaying back and forth on the ends of branches and leaves trying to latch on to us. We soldiered on for a while until everyone's nerve broke and we pelted back the way we had come until we got to "the rockfall", where there was no vegetation, and all sat down, ripped our shoes and socks off and spent the next 15 minutes picking leeches off each other.
Brrrrr *shiver* :sick:sick:sick

I'd really like to see her flourishing. I wonder if she's an escapee from an egg production farm, because if so, she might've been drinking antibiotics her whole life until she joined us, which would explain her fragile immune system. Anyway, that's just one of the Sandy hypotheses I've got in mind.

Sounds like a reasonable hypothesis. Either that or she's an escaped "rescue chicken".
Is there a production farm near you MJ?

I don't mind being outed ;)

I'm so glad you like it. The crochet hooks were added to show you how it works...and to use of course :D ! It seemed like a good idea to be able to keep all your hooks in the same place and easily transportable.

Looks like you have room for even more hooks Ribh!

Yep! :) I still have a couple floating round stuck in various projects. A bad habit because it is far too easy to lose them.
