@Aussie-Chookmum : Look what arrived today! I actually like his illustrations so much I ordered 2 more of his, so that's 1 for each grandie: One Odd Old Owl & A Peacock on the Roof.

The first is a counting book; oldest just about ready for something like this. My Youngest GD is of Anglo/Indian heritage so the other should be perfect for her.

It is lovely & the illustrations are gorgeous! Does your copy have an end note? Mine says: Rosemary has forgotten the names of her 6 ducklings. If you look carefully @ the pictures in this book, you may be able to find them. Someone else has been looking too & she has crept into every picture. Sometimes you can see her clearly. Sometimes she has left a hidden clue. Can you work out who it is? I adore stuff like that in a kiddie's book & shall have lots of fun!

She's there 3 days, Bob. Because she lives & works in Chile they keep tabs that she's adjusting ok to her home culture ~ & given what's going on in Chile, still, what her plans are for returning.

I'd like that. I'm mostly an early bird these days after a lifetime of being a night owl...but age has not been kind...

We haven't really caught up yet, Bob. Between jet lag & trying to organise things like her Bankcard & driver's license it's been all about the practicalities of being home again.
