Ribh's D'Coopage

I work at Head Start -I have 3\4 year olds, my job is to teach them social skills and basic school readiness. Would love to be teaching kindergarten or first grade, but for now this is the best paying job in the area. And I love watching the learn something new :)
That would be a Nursery teacher then?
Do the children do a full day at three and four years old?

Tuppence got a ride into the big coop this morning because she was out when I went to collect the eggs.
*sigh*

A quick nap & she's now back in the run.
I think she does it because she knows she'll get some extra attention. It pings Suyin off but Suyin is just a PITA ~ though she doesn't want to be. She wants to be my lap chicken but she is too big & pushy.

She looks so peaceful there! Are her wattles that color normally? She looks a tad pale about the face, but has such light earlobes naturally... it could also be the light... she looks to be enjoying her nap quite splendidly. The big coop is the best, and soon @Shadrach will have us all letting the girls come and go as they please in our homes. The slippery slope of chickens, as they slowly infiltrate our homes (they already know they have our hearts) and the chicken math overwhelms us... “just one or two more” ;)

No, you're right Kris. She is still a little pale & not yet 100%. She feels very light to me as well but otherwise her usual chickeny self. I'd like a little more condition on her. May need to worm again a little ahead of schedule. She is a wonderful little chicken!

She’s gorgeous... probably jumping the fence for the extra attention and time with her human... you’re going to get a lot of happy, spoilt lap chickens. Lucky Tuppence to have you. I always reward time in the big coop with mealworms and cooked eggs, especially if it’s because I’ve needed to treat someone for something.

Actually, that's probably a really excellent idea. I hadn't thought she could get some extra food out of sight of the greedy guzzlers.

I find it helps ease the stress of any treatments, as well as giving a little nutritional boost. “Here... forget about what I just did with that finger... you do feel better don’t you? Oh, no? A few more mealy worms will make it better!”

I’ve only ever had one hold out, the crazy wild Columbian Rock from Chickie Hawk’s girls... she refused to worms and wouldn’t relax at all while I was checking her over. Just a Broken blood feather, no actual damage, but she still wouldn’t take the worms even waggling them right in front of her beak. I still have her a bunch when I returned her to her tractor and slightly more distraught BF.

She was out again...:hmm So I nabbed her & brought her inside while I cooked up Lottie's funny egg for her [perfectly fine except for the wobbly outsides]~ which she spread all over both of us & really enjoyed!:D Then I shared out mealworms with all the girls & @ feed time I kept Tuppence on my lap with Lottie ...This is quickly getting crowded!:gigShe had a really good, relaxed feed. Normally, even with me protecting her, the big girls hassle her so much she moves away from the food. Today she sat in my lap & ate leisurely & even after she was finished she sat warm & snug in my lap. When she finally moved away she actually had a good preening session, so I am pretty happy with her today but she has been so sick it may take a while to get her back in top nick.

Look what I found in the girls'
coop this evening! @Kris5902

It's a golden orb spider. Too late in the day to catch the really golden glow of the web but I will try in the morning & see if I can catch that glorious shimmer.
