Ribh's D'Coopage

I haz chicks!:celebrate
Knock has hatched one out of three so far and Barking Bracket has hatched two out of....I'm not quite sure.
All the hens have gone very secretive and I think some I don't know about are in fact laying.
Nolia keeps disappearing into the bamboo in the mornings, so a search is on there; not an easy thing to do.
Donk's pin bones say she's laying but I don't have a clue where.
Mel and Hurry are laying in the house nest box and it looks like Tap and Moon will be laying soon.
It's going to be a nest hunt day tomorrow by the look of things.
Whaaat?? Yay!

Howdy, Rib! I've been wandering around BYC complaining that the "new posts" on the home screen is full of chat threads, but then I found this gem :D
 It's nice to see you here anyways. I haven't decided about the new format yet. I'm still a bit lost. :)

Thanks, glad to have found this thread! I haven't either, it'll take some getting used to. Feel like it's boogering up my eyes a bit...

What's that egg stash in your avatar?
That is my Campine's hidden nest. She secretly hopped the run fence managed to lay 10 eggs. Unfortunately for her she then decided to sit & I eventually found her. No point sitting when I don't have a rooster. :lau

Introducing a single hen can be a bit of a mission I am led to believe.

I only do pairs. I've done 1 hen twice and it had gone OK but they run in pairs a lot. An even numbered flock just seems more stable. Of course I have no science to support that, just my observations.
