That sound lovelyAfternoon, Sue.
I'm heading to the mainland this afternoon to catch up with youngest & hand over her Christmas presents. Depending on her time restrictions we may go & look @ paint & wool. I have 2 projects almost ready to go in the mail but ran out of wool on both of them besides waiting on buttons. One is for a Canadian friend's 2nd grandchild so getting some Aussie animal buttons for that. We've known each other virtually for almost 20 years so it really is a love project.
what about you?
Thanks, Sue. We had a lovely time.Good evening everyone
That sound lovelyhope you have a great time
That is awesome about having a friend that long
just normal stuff here, caring for the animals, relax after dinner and sleep![]()
Ouch. It is too hot to be broody! I seem to have discouraged my lot for now. Even Ha'penny isn't hoarding eggs but I am getting some funny eggs.Hi @Ribh , I reckon you’re right about chooks going broody in the heat! It got to 41C today and Charlie definitely went broody! She doesn’t make her “tuk tuk tuk” noise anymore, now she gives single honks, like a goose! Back to broody jail...
Me too. I've seen Luna, who is such a kind chookie, Ha'penny, Soda & even Suyin put a protective wing over Lottie if they happen to be the girl roosting with her.Wow! I'm so impressed with Patricia and the gang for keeping Lottie safe.
This is just weird.
Lottie is bottom chook. She's not a real social lady during the day either & when she gets pecked she has a high pitched squeal but ever since we lost Tuppance it doesn't matter who Lottie roosts with they do this....
Yep. Patricia has a wing over Lottie.

Despite the heat everyone is still cuddled up. I get a real giggle out of the girls trying to look @ the world upside down but the big girls are definitely feeling the heat.
@BY Bob: I had to show Lavender what the new step was for.Definitely not the brightest chook I own. All I'd done was shorten her pacing space but I think she's got it now. I don't hear her frantic bok~boking when she goes to roost now.
