Ribh's D'Coopage

too bad they don't take his car away and sell it. They did that somewhere in the States and I thinks its a great idea..

There was a case here where a woman killed two people with her car on two separate occasions at the same intersection. She went to jail on both occasions. When she came out the second time, the issuing authority refused to give her license back. She took them to court and the magistrate said (paraphrasing) “You probably shouldn’t be driving, but here’s you’re license back”.

I'm getting locks for the coop. I'm more worried about at night. I'm here during the day. I'm not going anywhere.

There’s little padlocks on the tractor and I changed the standard gate bolt on the run to a hasp and staple, so all the screws are hidden. Although all you need is a pair of wire cutters... :(

She has done great! She buddies right up to Mama and the babies. I have not had 1 issue introducing new birds to my silkie flock.

Thunder is a great roo. He is very gentle but firm when needed with the rest of the flock. I put Sugar in after dark, the next morning Thunder saw her, she let him mount her, and she's been accepted ever since.

You have all got me worried - do you really think someone would come and steal chickens? Interestingly the Chicken Palace actually has locks because I salvaged people-doors. I am not sure I have keys to all of them but maybe I do. Do you think I should lock them in to deter chicken rustlers?

I'm not really sure. My coop is easy to lock. The carabiners I use to close the doors are made to be replaced by locks. I just dont know. I can only imagine what a pain it would be to carry keys out. I really can't decide. I dont think I am there yet. But it is rolling around in my mind.

Probably not, especially if you are in a quieter area but in the rougher urban areas I'm thinking I would be cautious. My pen isn't easy to access & can't be seen from the road @ all but most people round here know we have chickens because they get the eggs. :D The latest rumour doing the rounds here is mainlanders shopping @ our store as we haven't run out of stock yet. Probably not true but the gossip gets unbelievable here when stuff happens.

I would, but then I’m cynical, distrustful and just that little bit paranoid. ;)

I know that "necessity is the mother of invention," but, don't think wrapping toilet paper around the head will produce the desired results.:lau:gig
Unless you want to be the mummy for Halloween, no it will not. Of course if your goal is to look foolish, mission accomplished. 🤦‍♂️
