Ribh's D'Coopage

I have 3 feeders for 6 girls. That seems to be working. They do have food all day long.
Yes, so do mine, but I put down the evening feed in tubs & I'd prefer not to but still ensure everyone gets a chance @ the food before bed. :(

That's why I always make cetain whoever's is last in the pecking order gets their share. The chicken world is cruel but I try to make it a little more fair.
Me too. Hence the way I do the evening feed. It ensures everyone gets their share, no~one misses out & treats aren't hogged by the Big Girls.

She says "Hi! Lovely day! I ate a weed!"
The "weed" comment reminds me.

Hattie has 2 dandelions she is torturing and keeping to herself. She goes to them when everyone else is busy and eats a few leaves. They are the only dandelions in my yard and she is keeping them alive for snack purposes!

She is a dandelion farmer! :gig

When spring finally arrives, I get a yard full (nearly 1/3 acre) of dandelions. Hattie can have them all. I don't use poisons - if I am really upset with weeds, I dump a pan of boiling water on them .
My back yard is pristine. Only Hattie's secret dandelions exist. They are excellent yard keepers. Put a fence up and I'll bring them by. ;)

I am planning on replacing my treadle feeder & tubs with tubes. No matter how many I put out the Big Girls still manage to hog the food. Ten might just do it...
Everybody gets to eat here but not all at once. It's seniors first with the junior roosters being last.
