Alice is the most curious and, arguably, the most intelligent of my hens.

She is the calmest when I pick her up and the gentlest taking food from my hand. I think if I worked with the girls more she would be the easiest to train. I just wish those feathers on her back would grow back!

Hmmm... Yes, very intelligent. And very calm. I need to get them in the big run but my older girls will teach them bad habits.

About 17.8C, rainy & with wind about to pick up again from the wsw ~ which means it will be cold. You guys will be warming up as we cool down.

Had our first load of firewood dropped off yesterday & if it keeps raining the fire will go on so the house doesn't feel damp.

Not a bad temp for me, but I bet you're freezing. Yes, we're warming up, but it's unseasonably warm, about 30C. We should be between 10C-21C this time of year. Next week we're supposed to return to normal. Hard to believe it snowed just a few weeks ago.

No, this is a good temp for me. I prefer things coolish to warmish & I loath humidity. Another month & I'll probably be miserable.

After our summer this is an absolute blessing! It's been a rough year for a lot of people.
