Ribh's D'Coopage

Thanks, Shad. She seems to be having a light molt, only a few feathers here & there, but it has been wet & cold here & she seems so miserable. :( I did all the usual checks. I am so paranoid about abnormal behaviour.
It is smart to be on guard whenever you see something not quite right. @Shadrach is right though, if you have done the proper checks it probably is just the molt.

I'm quite worried about Lottie.

She's normally very feisty in her quiet little way but she's been very subdued the last 24 hours or so & looking for the sunny spots in the coop. Eating & drinking ok but she snuggled up with Lavender in a nesting box last night. Sooo unlike her! Our vets have shut down. I got an email notification just before this happened. Naturally. 🙄 Isn't that always the way? She's started her molt so I'm hoping that's all it is. She's always been a rather special little chicken. I'd hate to lose her!

I hope she’s ok! :hugs :fl

I love Australorps. Sadly I lost all 3 of mine but they were beautiful girls. I won't replace them as Campines are my delight & I'm moving my flock that way. They get along beautifully with my Wyandotte bantams, who are the most lovely hens. I haven't decided about the Aracaunas. They seem to have attitude issues? @Aussie-Chookmum? You've dealt with them longer than I have.

Alice is the most curious and, arguably, the most intelligent of my hens.

She is the calmest when I pick her up and the gentlest taking food from my hand. I think if I worked with the girls more she would be the easiest to train. I just wish those feathers on her back would grow back!

No, just a regular oven. Can't wait to see the pics.
Here you go. Pardon the chicken feed. I keep it in there away from the rats.

I have plan for how to make one. One day I'll have one. They are wonderful for all sorts of cooking.
The guys down the track here have one and do a variety of stuff in it ranging from bread, slow cook meals, pizzas (really quick in the oven) and finally drying herbs and fruit.
