Ribh's D'Coopage

We were on the mainland yesterday so the girls were going stir crazy by the time we got home. I let the biggies out then decided Wrold & Alpia, who are now reasonably friendly, could join them in the run. Beatha & the Campines are champing @ the bit to join them but 10 minutes later most of the girls were roaming my yard. Alpia was busily trying to uproot the passionfruit I want to grow over the coop for next summer's heat. Wrold was sitting on top of the fence. The Biggies have taught them well. This is why I have waited so long. They @ least all come when I rattle the pig bucket. :D

Good to hear. We're living in crazy times right now.
It's hard on the elderly. Mum's in her mid 80's & her retirement village is in complete lockdown. She was a competitive netballer in her youth & still something of an exercise freak so she is missing getting her regular amount of exercise. She lost my dad about 10 years ago & her cat 1 or 2 ago so is very much alone. The girls & I usually visit regularly ~ curtailed for the present~ so reduced to skype & phone calls. Hoping the girl can leave stuff @ reception for her. I've sent eggs as she loves our fresh eggs.

It only makes sense to limit elderly patient exposure, but it's so very hard. And finding alternatives to direct contact can be very challenging. Hoping she gets her stuff. With proper wait, it shouldn't be a problem. Send her hugs from your crazy yank friends. :hugs :hugs

My Mom is stuck in her house alone under similar circumstances. Several years ago, she kind of adopted my cousin's ex-girlfriend. She's a special needs adult with about a third grade mentality. She can't read and budget and math are way beyond her capability. So Mom has had to resort to getting her SIL and Priest to provide documents, deliver groceries, etc, while she writes the checks. As much as she grumbles about the responsibility, she really misses the companionship. Now the local grocery store for them has started "delivery only service" where you order on-line and they deliver. Mom is not computer savvy, so now I've agreed to process and pay for the orders for her. She aint liken it, but it will work.

The man & I aren't real social types so haven't found our restrictions onerous but I didn't realise until I saw her yesterday how much I had missed the odd catch~up with youngest. I passed on the shawl I had made her for our cooler weather, which is now starting to arrive. She's quite a bit taller than I am so it's not as long on her.
