That silver penciled:eek:.... gorgeous!!... I want one!
Thank you...she is one of my lap chickens...I only have 2 that will sit on my lap and their both pictured. I got that one from My Pet Chicken and they would only allow me to purchase one. I am due 7 more come April getting those from McMurry. We will see how that works out as they only have straight run for them. The way my luck has been I will prob end up with 7 cockerels. If I do one will be kept to raise more next year.
I also have 2 GLW and 3 SLW's 3 Colombian Wy's 3 BR 5 Orps

Hah! I’m out on that one, can’t homeschool what you don’t have ;) maybe Andrew and I will do better with that now we are on the farm... but clocks a ticking, so I might just skip a step and adopt some older ones once we get the house done. I’m not going to be able to lift hay bales forever!
Actually, when I first started reading your threads I thought what a fantastic homeschooler you would be ~ very practical, hands on learning. I'm quite academic. For my sins I got a clutch of *different learners*. I've learnt a lot about how people learn best. Most people need a hands on approach even if they are able to learn in other ways as well.

Adoption is cool. We used to run a hostel for homeless youth. Big kids need adopting too....

This is what's happening to our hill in the dry. All our bracken is drying up.

It distresses me, not so much because the bracken is dry; it will grow back, but because noisy pittas live there. They are ground dwellers & I know we have them because Kirby [my B&W cat] brings them to me when they come up around the house.

Tha is one odd looking little bird... your cat brings them in for you alive? One of my cats will sit on mice, I just thought I’d been watching too many “broody chicken” videos with him. He tucked it back under his belly twice before I finally rescued the poor rodent.

Droughts and heat waves suck, we had 1/2 the hay as usual last year here, and the pastures all got too crispy, too soon. And people say global warming is a myth!
