When I was young, I tried to buy an Island in the boundary waters between Minnesota and Canada. I met the island while portaging through there and the price was something I could afford on my E-4 military salary. I bid and won, but then it all got tangled up in international law on who could legally sell it. It was about 5 acres in the middle of a big lake with only access being plane or boat and by boat you had to portage across three land masses to get to it. Have I mentioned that I'm not a big fan of neighbors?

Me either. My dream Is to own an island completely to myself.

No it got so entangled with international law that I couldn't afford the lawyers. Good news is I got my money back.

Yup I lost it. Now I have 100+ acres on the side of a mountain. My favorite book when I was a kid was "my side of the mountain."

Oooh, I loved that book ~ except for the snow. I am not a fan of snow.
