Oooh. I'm blessed in that my broodies don't really go for me!Well, I've gotten my first broody chicken. DW got bit pretty good going after an egg today. Didn't know the chicken was there until the first peck. This girl dug a tunnel under a piece of plywood and was hiding in there when DW got the turkeys to get off the eggs. She reached in to get them and strike of the chicken. So I now have four turkeys in varying stages of broodiness and one chicken. The blacks are just plain vicious. I have to grab them as far back as possible to still pen their wings without them being able to reach my hand, and since two share the nest it's a bit complicated as one can peck while I'm grabbing the other. So it's lift and toss X2. But I do have hands of shoe leather, so easier for me to take a peck.
