So a black bear was roaming around my town about 2 hours ago. This was only 3 blocks from my house. Thankfully all animals (cats and chickens) are safe and accounted for.

Thanks everyone for your advice and help. I feel wonderfully supported when a chicken problem crops up (pun intended)
At least bears are something we don't have to worry about in Australia @CrazyChookChookLady , except of the koala variety

Me too. I don't interfere. Even the venomous snakes Kirby brings home get released. The exceptions are mosquitoes & all parasites. They have to die!

And for those of you of a praying disposition: I have to attend DILs Baby Shower tomorrow. More people than I normally see in a week, most strangers. I'm freaking already & about ready to flee howling into the mangroves. As that's not possible I manage to behave like an adult ~ mature or otherwise...
