Ribh's D'Coopage

Yesterday was not a good day.
I woke up with a scratchy throat & was crashed on the couch by lunchtime.

Our doors arrived. We are missing one. But our super special order for our bedroom did arrive.

Sorry you're not well Ribh, but glad to hear you're getting lots of rest.

Get well soon!:hugs

Beautiful doors!!

I'm in a similar predicament, I am currently rather ill with a cold/sinus infection myself right now. Sadly I still have to be at work, no paid time off. Rich bought me some Wild Turkey American Honey and made me a strong hot toddy so that helped me sleep last night.

You too @CrazyChookChookLady :hugs

Thanks Who Dat.:)

When it was alive it fell over and grew away from the fence. A Satin bower bird started building a bower under it where it was hard for my dogs to get to . Then, when the chooks were free ranging they loved getting under there and scratched the bower to pieces! The bower birds tried rebuilding a couple of times but gave up when the chooks kept ruining their hard work, poor things :(.

When it died, I had the tree lopper in and told him I was going to expand the chook run. He immediately started looking to see how he could leave perches for the girls. I think he's one of us!

^ Here is what the grevillea looked like after it died but before it was lopped. It's just to the right of the coop.

^ and this is what it looked like after lopping but before extending the chook run. Utter devastation!

We have to treat boronias as annuals here. They just curl up their toes after a year or two. I find it too disheartening. But after a few years I always catch the boronia bug again!:D
That is so cool.. and I love your yard!! And wait... are those Cockatoos sitting on your fence!?

I wouldn't be encouraging those! They are terribly destructive & have been known to chew out whole houses ~ never mind something as small as a fence or a chook pen!

Yep. Noisy buggers. They are after the scratch I spread for the chooks and they let the whole neighbourhood know there is free food available.

The rosellas and king parrots come for their share too. Some of them will eat from your hand :)

Yeah, we decided to stick with our native theme: those are kookaburras.

I am envious of your Bower Bird. That's one thing I've never seen here! :( Heaps of rosellas & greenies just now. Kirby is stalking them but they'll give him a shock if he gets one. They're feisty!

That honey whiskey works wonders. Good job Rich!

I have a pile of Grevillias, Banksias, bottlebrushes to hedgerow out the front when our side walk is finally clear of building materials.

OOOH, post before and after photos of your native hedge Ribh!

Well, I suppose we'll have to wait a few years for the "after" photos :hmm
